T- MET45 turbocharger nozzle ring (also called turbo guide vane) belongs to one part of T- Mitsubishi / T- MET-original series exhaust gas turbocharger, which is widely used in marine and stationary engines. The T- MET-original series turbocharger is axial type of turbine with relatively high pressure turbocharging suitable for the large engine.

Turbocharger Nozzle Ring function
This high velocity gas is directed onto the turbine blades where it drives the turbine wheel, and thus the compressor at high speeds (10 -15000 rpm). The exhaust gas then passes through the outlet casing to the exhaust uptakes.
The turbocharger nozzle ring is in the where the energy in the exhaust gas is converted into kinetic energy, so the nozzle ring need to bear the extremely high temperature and high pressure.
The turbocharger nozzle ring is usually fabricated from a creep resistant chromium nickel alloy, heat resisting moly-chrome nickel steel or a nimonic alloy which will withstand the high temperatures and be resistant to corrosion.
Furthermore, due to its function is to convert the exhaust gas into kinetic energy, the precision processing of the nozzle ring is highly demanded.
Brief introduction of Marine turbocharger:
The marine turbocharger, also known as exhaust gas turbocharger, is the main equipment in the diesel engine boosting system. It consists of a single-stage exhaust gas turbine and a centrifugal compressor. They are mounted on the same shaft to form the moving part of the marine turbocharger/exhaust gas turbocharger - the rotor. The function of the marine turbocharger/exhaust gas turbocharger is to use the diesel exhaust energy to drive the turbine to drive the compressor on the coaxial to increase the air pressure into the cylinder, so that the diesel engine power is greatly improved. The exhaust turbocharger approximately doubles the power of the diesel engine, but its weight is only increased 10%.
