T- TPS series turbocharger V-clamp belongs to T- ABB / T- TPS series exhaust gas turbocharger. It is a mixed-flow turbocharger and which consists of single-stage mixed-flow turbine and centrifugal compressor, and adopts inboard support semi-floating sliding bearing and external lube oil system. Single stage of marine turbocharger can meet the requirement of 500kw~3000kw high speed diesel engine. T- ABB / T- TPS series marine turbochargers are extensively applicable to marine main engines, marine auxiliary machines, generating sets, railway locomotives and other application areas of diesel engines due to T- TPS series turbocharger has the advantages, such as simple and compact structure, firmness, durability, low operating cost, high performance and wide applicability.

For T- TPS series turbochargers including T-TPS48, T-TPS52 and T-TPS57) which launched before October 2000 and October 2003, their casings (turbine casing, bearing casing, compressor casing) were connected by V-clamp.
It is suggested that the end-users should check regularly the tightening torque, the fit of the V-clamps and the fit of the casing flanges. The check interval is recommended 500-1000 hours. The tightening torque should be 60Nm in every case.
It's been noticed that some T-TPS units with V-clamps were likely to cause gas to leak if the tighten torque is not correct which may lead the casings and internal components movable. So the regular turbocharger overhaul or maintenance for V-clamps are very important.
